Mara majored in Biomedical Engineering with minors in Business and Mathematics at the University of Arkansas, graduating in 2026. Her undergraduate research focused on engineering organ-on-chip models of the blood-brain barrier and aortic valve. She joined the Alushin Lab in 2026, where she is investigating cell-cell adhesion and intercellular force transmission using super-resolution microscopy.
